How much data is a user in a database roughly
Inspired by Google system design interview: Design Spotify (with ex-Google EM)
1KB ish
Some common fields:
| Field Type / Data | Approximate Size |
|---|---|
| User ID (UUID / BigInt) | 8 to 16 bytes |
| Email Address | 30 to 60 bytes |
| Hashed Password (e.g., bcrypt) | 60 bytes |
| Timestamps (Created, Updated) | 8 bytes each |
But what takes most space is database overhead, index, page, etc.
